Have I got news for you! My wife has recently gotten me connected to Face Book - the web 2.0 ready social networking golden boy that seems to be taking not only the web, but my community, and my collection of friends by storm! * But more on that later… * While I was sending a broadcast message to several lists I was reminded that this particular program limited the email message to just 255 Characters! 255 - Two Hundred and Fifty Five … Are you kidding me? That's impossible… Right? Well - it would seem that short messages and small blips of the most crucial information necessary - are a thing of the past. Most of the messages I receive from other internet marketers, large companies, and news sources are full of text. Not only text - but now graphics - and animations - and even VIDEO! These are huge deliverable packages for your email client to handle, or your bandwidth to sustain… Today I was reminded of the purpose of email and it's most effective form. SHORT! Keep it under 25 CHARACTERS! Not only will your reader be pleased with the short quip of crucial information - but you have the opportunity to Provide Information, and Peak Interest (PiPi… cute…). It's a craft - but you can successfully write a powerful haiku like message with a interest raising call to action and still convert emails into eye-balls for your website. Read more... |
